<description>I say go for Ubuntu, I love it because it works and is well supported with lots of app&#039;s in the repo&#039;s.
I also use Ubuntu server as a home server and have now had a few months of trouble free service.

		<description>Welcome to Linux!

I think you shoudl try Linuxmint (number 4 in distrowatch), which is a better Ubuntu version. While it is based in Ubuntu it has a lot more to offer like preloaded codecs for audio, video and dvd playback, plus some unique features.

Beeing based on Ubuntu gives you the possibility to use the same repositories so the amount of software that you get is huge.

It has a kind of start menu that will make your migration from windows much easier.

One of the difference is the look, it&#039;s very sleek.

Another example of uniqness is the application MintInstall which allows you to install and uninstall with a right click any of the programs that show up in the &quot;start menu&quot;.

Another good feature is Mint update which updates your software but has different categories so you can see what can mess up your system and what&#039;s not.

The developers are great guys and always listen to the requirements of the users and always updated the features.

There are many more featuers that I think you would like.

Before I forget, the community it&#039;s great, very helpful.

Hope you will join us.

Check it out @ http://www.linuxmint.com
