		<description>I have run the above commands..Still time is not synced with the EST time which i use..I Run 

cat /etc/redhat-release
CentOS release 4.3 (Final)

O/P from zdump -v America/New_York &#124;grep 2009 commad

America/New_York  Sun Mar  8 06:59:59 2009 UTC = Sun Mar  8 01:59:59 2009 EST isdst=0 gmtoff=-18000
America/New_York  Sun Mar  8 07:00:00 2009 UTC = Sun Mar  8 03:00:00 2009 EDT isdst=1 gmtoff=-14400
